Founded in 1804, Mizkan Group – a family owned Japanese business – is the world’s leading sushi seasoning supplier. A leading producer of quality food products, in 2012 they added Sarson’s Vinegar and Haywards Pickles to their portfolio. Iconic British brand, Branston Pickle became part of the Mizkan family in 2013. In 2019, they expanded their range further and launched OSU Apple Cider Vinegar (OSU means vinegar in Japanese).
We were tasked with creating an ecommerce site for the new brand. The site would not only be a sales platform, but would also need to introduce the brand – and the benefits of the product – to consumers.
With just six weeks to deliver, we worked with designs supplied by the client’s branding (??) agency to deliver a site that worked in synergy with the marketing campaigns that were already being developed elsewhere. Our developers customized a site with WooCommerce and integrate Veeqo on the backend. We also designed a bespoke WordPress CMS, which enabled Mizkan’s in-house marketing team to add content immediately – and update it as required in the future.
The site was delivered on time and on budget – and led to an ongoing relationship with the client. In addition to signing up for our monthly support package, which guarantees that we’ll keep the site in optimum condition and will install the latest security updates as soon as they’re released, we’re also providing Mizkan with full support and training to help them develop online content going forward.
